How would they compare? The D20 bottom end with a 23 head & IM (or aftermarket) vs. a regular stock D23. I'm guessing that the full D23 will have more low end torque and the 2.0/23 combo will be peaky with good top end?

Using a 23 manifold w/ 23 head conversion 20 you'd need a tune to get the imtv going. So if your adding a 23 intake then get the escape one which delete the imrc= tumble flaps altogether. So knowing that & using a escape manifold= Could a person plug in the imtv using the imrc plug? As the escape 23 manifold only has imtv & the 20 only has imrc. And the 23 foci & ranger uses both the imrc & imtv.

Doesn't some 23 rangers use imrc's? IK some did, I'm not sure what yrs. I believe the earlier 23's.

yes the first gen with Duratec, 2001 to 2004
they also have the alu cam cover but without the COP screw

The Ranger 2.3 uses the 2.0 cylinder head, so the Ranger intake would be no better than the 2.0 Focus intake.

I agree that the ranger intake isn't any upgrade to any set-up, but I wouldn't say that the fact it have a 2.0 head have anything to do with the better or not since the 2.0 and 2.3 have the exact same port dimension. my 0.02

So is there any IM that would allow the 2.0 bottom end to retain some low end torque? Maybe this is really a lot of trouble for little gain...

Manifold I always thought were high rpm. I feel like internals is the best way for low end if you want serious numbers. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.
