I had my first change at just over 10000km and that was my call. The tech said the oil still had quite a bit of life to it. I had it done along with some other work just because I figured I was as well kill two birds with one stone.

Sent from your mom's house.

800, 3000, and 6000, now every 5K to 6K. I would have done the first one sooner but I was having too much fun driving it to stop and change the oil. Will it matter if you stick to the manufacturers recommended interval, probably not. I just like getting all of the tiny shiny stuff out as soon as reasonable, and yes there will be lots of tiny shiny stuff in there. Depends on what your peace of mind is worth. Mine is worth way more than a couple of oil changes. Here is a link to someone who may have at least a little credibility.

Good link. Another recommendation I might add with a new car is before you wax it do a full claybar job on the paint. Made a world of difference on mine and this was just a week after we bought it.

Changed mine at 1,500 (just b/c I like changing oil) and this is what I found. Glad I did it. It may have been sitting safely at the bottom of the pan but no one can guarantee it.

Doing 7,500mi + OCIs now.

From what I have read here its just a milage counter. Many reported it going off at 10,250 miles.

I wasn't sure my was working since its an earlier car. However after my last oil change I did not reset the OLM. It came on a few days later.

My question is, it is tied to when the vehicle health report will run. I set my for 5k intervals and it prompts me to run it a few hundred miles before the 5k mark. And like I noted the OLM activated just after that point.

I thought that the interval for tire rotation was 7,500 miles?

I waited till the car told me to change it. It told me at 9,900

5,000 to 10,000 really, but if your records don't show every 5,000 and you need a warranty claim, you likely won't get the entire claim. I've always done 5,000 and have never had any issues with my tires. Any premature wear is all on me and my driving style.

Generally the tire roatation recommendation seems to be at 5000, but that might just be under the severe service schedule.

The manual actually says "at every oil change". Page 389, 5th printing.
