Cosworth Intake Manifold (08-11)

Hello all,

Starting to do some modding again. Really liking the Cosworth manifold and the modified one FSWerks made for the 08-11 D20. I was searching the forums for some info and I ran across a thread where everyone was arguing about what the manifold did to the power band and what the manifold helped or didn't help. Can anyone clear this up and give me a clear and concise answer? Would this be beneficial for an N/A car? I saw on the FSWerks website that additional tuning is needed. What is involved in that?

In addition to the mods in my signature, I have an SCT X3 tuner w/ 93 octane tune and a race header on its way to me right now. I am also considering a camshaft upgrade and underdrive pulleys.

I would install the header and tune it. Cams for the 08+ are still "iffy". I believe there is someone on here would installed cams on the 08+ and had some tuning issues. I talked to Randy at FSW about it and he said tuning could be an issue.

As for the Cossie, I don't feel its necessary unless your cammed or FI. I would put that money into suspension goodies.

While NA, the Cosworth IM should be the last thing. With stock cams and header there's no reason to a bigger IM.

In my car (d20), I started with cams, then header, then exhaust, and then, when there was nothing more to do, I put the Cosworth IM.

Now I removed the cams because I'm going FI, I'm running stock cams and Cosworth IM, it's not worth, you lose too much torque and don't gain same amount of high rpm power. So with stock cams it's not worth IMO.

I would start with header, exhaust, CAI and Tom's tune.

I never considered cams until I saw staticsword's post about putting them in. Tom, I honestly forgot all about your tune until after I ordered from FSW. Would have saved me some money on shipping too.

I also some stuff about putting a D23 head on the D20 block. How hard is that and what all is involved? Basically, I want to go as far as possible on natural aspiration.
