Question 2003 ZX5 Front Seats

Due to several extenuating circumstances from my Son, my focus needs a new drivers seat. the right side has broke somewhere and now does not lock in place. The left side is now showing wear as well now that I have had to lean on it to sit upright and not drive like I was still a teenager.

What years and model seats are a direct bolt in for a ZX5 without airbags in seat.

I am not above removing the back and bolting a new one to the seat, but I have quite a number of salvage yards around that I can find several focus models but they say it wont fit my car.

I am technically inclined but I would like to know for sure. Not worried about the plug underneath. as long as I know which wires match up I can make my own harness if the light and seatbelt warnings get too anoying.

Any assitance would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks

any 2000-2007 focus, any model

The zx3 seats will have the function of sliding foward but that wont affect use in a four door car. The fact you dont need air bags in the seats means even seats with the air bags will still work (doesnt work the other way with out issues!)

The best seats will be from the SVT's and the ST's and will both work for your zx5, otherwise any of the seats for those years will work fine. I believe you will need to keep your existing seat belts/plugs, just transfer those over to the new seats. You should be fine going to your salvage yards and grabbing a couple front seats.

Welcome to the site, you get a big for this being your first post and you put it in the right section

The only thing that would potentially be an issue is if you took seats from a car that had power seats (SVTs ect..) you'd have to wire them to a power source.

For right now I am just looking for something that fits, since it is my main form of transportation. However I will continue to look for better seats or even upgrades later on. I bought it new and is just now hitting 100k. Thats an accomplishment(for me anyway). I will probably keep it until the wheels fall off even if I get something else to go with it.

as long as you take care of the car, no reason it wont last until 200k...there are many of mk1 owners well past the 100k mark
