its cheaper than the name brands. I dont know why k&n is so expensive when its just a tube with a cone on the end. And the cone you can get from Canadian tire or hardware store for 20$
modding on a budget isnt fun :|

You could always just do the Stealth intake mod for the DTec. I would still use the K&N 3" filter though for it and get the cleaner/oil kit for it.

Id recommend this one over the stealth simply because iv sucked up water when i had the stealth cai mod , and had to replace my maf sensor

I ran the stealth for 3 years with no issues and the streets flood all the time where i live, just cleaned the filter a few times a year. Recently got a good deal on a used FIPK so changed.

If your missing a splash guard like i was then yea lol, but it can still happen with it

K&N sells a filter cover that helps resist hydrolock. My lower splash guard came off last winter, haven't put it back on but still no issues. Hydrolock is a big scary thing that rarely actually happens unless you like to rev it going through puddles. I always coast through deep water when I encounter it.
