Smoother ride

Took my 2006 ford focus st on a trip to Scranton. I noticed that its kinda like driving a brick down the road. I want to do something with the suspension to give it a smoother ride. Looking for suggestions.

You could consider smaller wheels, potentially thicker tires.

Looking at the pix of your st in your avatar, looks stock. How are your tire's & pressure? How many miles on your car, meaning= Is the struts/shocks shot or war out? What kind of road is that? And what were you driving, when you drove down that same road before? How long have you had your foci?

How many miles are on your car? It could partly be just worn out suspension too. Too much tire pressure will make the ride firmer and be bad for tire wear. Also the tires themselves could contribute to it. If they have really stiff sidewalls it will make it feel more harsh.

I have had the focus for about 1 week. I was thinking it was possible that it is just worn suspension. But if I was going to replace I was looking to upgrade and looking for sugestions. The car has 120000 on it. And the roads weren't the best but the car def could have taken the bumps better. I'll check out the tire psi aswell.

What'd you have before? I'd be checking to see if the struts/shocks have been replaced. By the way it is a short wb car.
