LCA's Camber question

I do not have a camber gauge and am trying to save a bit of money getting my car aligned. I have a lifetime alignment with firestone and they will align everything but my front camber.

Is there any idea how much the camber will change per thread screwed in via the heim joint?

I know... dont blast me. I should just pay a race shop to do all of this for me and corner balance and have a merry time. This costs money!!!!

You need a camber gauge or find a place that will do the complete alignment. You can try searching for diy camber gauge.

Wind the heim joints in until there is only 3 threads showing. That'll get you in spec.

For camber spec's are going to change depending on the height. I'd say the 3 threads showing is a start. I turned my out to 4.5 when I installed mine. I also replaced the nylocks w/ jam nuts, to make it easier to pull apart. I am at -2.0 w/ no tire wear issues.

^whoops, good point. I'd with a 1.5-1.75 drop. At 2" you still MAY be in spec at three threads.

What kind of alignment doesn't include camber, is it because u have something other than stock equipment. Camber should be included.

As you know the oem suspension doesn't allow camber on the foci. We're all talking 'bout the cfm tubular control arms, that allow camber. The instructions say have 3 threads showing, I installed them w/ 4.5 showing & that gets me at -2 degree's. Like I said early, I replaced the nylock's w/ jam nuts. Quicker= undue the jam nuts & pull the arm down & twist the heim joint in or out & reinstall, lower the car & jounce it up & down & check your camber. If good set your rear toe & then the front & make sure your steering wheel is straight.
