My Three Fords

I guess I should make a thread for things being done to my cars for anyone even halfway interested.

Last weekend, I decided to clean the two daily drivers up. They came out pretty well.

My wife's 2003 Mustang GT (Cassie)
My 2013 Focus SE (Earl)

Work continues on the eldest of the flock, my '86 GT. Long story short, 10 miles after an oilchange at NTB, the oilpump seizes. Pulling the motor out to open up the oilpump and see if it sucked up trash (my fault) or suffered massive internal failure due to lack of lubrication (their fault) in which case, NTB will be in court fighting to not may for the replacement engine.

Regardless. I ordered a forged rotating assembly to build a 349 for the car. (.040 over version of the popular 347 stroker), and I have some aluminum heads, ported intake, and I'll be ordering a cam kit soon as well.

Here's what she looks like currently:

Poor thing. :(

And here's what she's meant to be doing again:

Ugh. Poor four eye. Sobbing for you. At least you can always steal a ride from your wife's stang. Nice riders. Good luck with your court battle. Oh, a little jealous of your "three fords".

the 5-lug swap on the 86 really opens up your wheel choices

They're just the factory option wheels. No idea why the front one turned out looking photochopped flat like that. Stupid cell phone camera didn't get any detail of the spokes or anything, just the machined face and blackness in between.

Damn skippy. I have '96 Cobras, '99 Cobras, those GT wheels on it currently, and then my wife's stock Bullit wheels to choose from. Went cheap and put Ranger rotors on the front at first so I have to use one of the wheels that fit over the old school axle type spridle, but I have the SN95 front brake parts in a milk crate waiting for money to get a tubular K, coilovers, and A arms to plop em in. The car should weigh less than the 2013 Focus once the new motor is in and the suspension is taken care of. Hoping for 2800~ with the AC intact and 320whp or so.

Picked up some 19" Fusion Titanium wheels around town and threw them on the Focus for fun. This car totally should have come with these from the factory!!

Haven't decided if I want to resell them, or keep them and sell the 17's...

How do you like your White Mustang GT. I have been thinking of replacing my Focus with one of those. i would like the cobra but i will take a GT if i can't find the cobra and that is the year i want. Do you think you could use it as a daily driver. I know you probably dont use it for that because you have the focus.

My wife does daily the White '03 GT. As long as you're not in stop and go, it gets about 20 mpg, and it's not a bad daily as far as comfort either. I personally don't find the seating position in it very comfortable, but it's manageable. I do fit comfortably in my Fox, so I don't know if they changed something with the chassis or the leather seats are not a fit for me or what.

It's a damn fun daily that can be had in very good shape for about $7k. I'd prefer a 5 speed, but I have driven that car as a daily for a month or so when my wife needed the four door Focus for baby duties.
