Rally cross or track racing near Charlotte NC

Hey guys, I love in fort mill SC (just across the border of Charlotte NC). Where can I race in anything other than a circle or a straight line?

Thanks!

Andrew

For road racing depending on if you want to do track days or join Scca or NASA, both great groups, you can run the roval at Charlotte, Kershaw a dedicated rd course, vir an amazing rd course, drive a little more rd atlanta. You have plenty of places to do it.

Track day requirements depending on groups usually are minimal mostly safety related. Tires up to snuff, bearings brakes in good order, properly secured battery. As you move up in pace remember your safety equipment must match the instructor. So if you put in a 5 point harness, same for the passenger. Don't rush for roll bars if the car is more street as that can cause problems in daily driving.

Scca race season close by starts again in march, we run a focus st in ITA. In the process of winter rebuild, actually almost total redue. Tom of focus power has the head right now doing his magic, short block just came back from the machine shop, suspension being revalved now. If you have never been to an Scca race plan on going to vir in march. Located in Danville va, one of the nicest tracks in the nation just a short drive from you.

That's awesome! Do you have any pictures of your setup? I currently have a 2000 zx3 2.0 stock as can be, I have fitted the SVT suspension and the person I bought it from pretty much straight piped it and stuck on dial reactive tips (NOT my favorite aspect of the car!)

it is currently my daily driver but I am hoping to do some headwork and take it for a razz around on track days.

Will retire it from the daily commute in the next couple of years and will keep to race. Adding to it as I get there.

Any suggestions on performance/ tuning for track?

I know a couple of people from the Charlotte area that run with them. They are a good group.
