OK i think i found the problem, while unplugging and plugging things back in today I remembered that i removed my trunk trim piece awhile back when i saw it was cracked, should have just left it on for inspection but the trim piece ordered was wrong and i received a hatch trim. In the mean time the guys at the shop decided to wire up new lights for the license plate to pass it, and i think something came loose because when i plug in the third brake light which the license plate lights are attached to it kills the car. so I'm gonna see if my buddy can help me rewire it, as i don't like that i can't fit the clear covers over the light.

The other thing i noticed is my asc button blinks but it's always blinked randomly since i first got the car and it only goes away when you open the sunroof then push the button so maybe i have 2 issues to deal with

Yep, plugging it in and trying to start it killed it when i tried to turn it over so i unplugged it and jumped the battery ran it and shut it off, turned it over and then it started again and let it run till warm and the idle smoothed out. there was no jumping in the revs or anything this time around either. After the letting it run for a little it eventually just shut off by itself, tried starting it and it ran for a few minutes and shut off again no rough idle or stumbling before it shut off,it's almost like somebody turned the key back to shut it off

Weak relay somewhere....but you didn't smoke anything so I'd say there hooked up right.(?) Dan, it sure sounds like lack of grounding. Check your ground wires @ the ground location (battery). 1 wire attaches to the neg. battery post and runs under the air box; 1 wire (black/orange stripe) attaches to the neg. post....runs down to driver fender well to wire loom, and 1 wire come out of that same loom to attach to the driver fender well.

Well excellent!! You've made real progress! In addition to checking the grounds, I would trace back the mods made to the third brake light circuits and then undo the mods so the circuits are back in their original configuration.

I hope you're using load balancers on any L.E.D lights......3rd brake light, license plate lights, etc. Leave-us-know.

I'll have to double check the led third brake light as i thought it had the built in resistor/balancer but i can try swapping back to a stock third brake light to see if there is any difference, the license plate bulbs are standard but the wiring is iffy looking to me as it appears they cut into the stock wiring and just used electrical tape to cover up the new wiring setup,i'll take the tape off tomorrow and see what it's like underneath and will post pictures as well
