Tint Job
Last week, I had my windows tinted by a local place. I left the windows untouched for a week and today I went around to inspect it. I noticed that there are dust bubbles on every window and on one of the rear window, there is huge gap. My question is am I being too picky or not? Are dust bubbles normal? For those who have window tint, do you guys notice any flaws with your tint? I know there is no such thing as a perfect tint job but some things are just not acceptable. I am definitely going back to let them redo the window with the big gap. Like many of you guys on board I am about the details. What do you guys think I should do? Should I demand for a refund? Let me know. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by dust bubbles? It's normal to see some, they will go away once the heat works them out. If they don't go away bring it back. Since you are going back for the gap, might as well bring up the bubbles

I generally just ask places to "make things right" and let them decide how they propose to do that. Maybe they can fix it instead of giving you a refund...

a gap and any bubbles are unacceptable in my book. if you pay the premium that window tint costs these days, atleast around here, i'd expect nothing less than 99.999% perfect

0 flaws on mine. usually it takes 2 weeks for the bubbles to work out, parking in the sun helps. but you get what you pay for.
read the fine print, you might have signed something saying "it is impossible to remove all dust particles". |

I paid for a cheaper tint for my girlfriends car, which was supposed to be a gift. It didn't turn out too bad but it definitely was not the best. She wasn't happy with it from the get go and the portholes were terrible looking.
We had to go back and forth constantly with the tinting place just to try and get them to admit that there was an issue. We finally got our money back but then you have to pay the next shop to remove it. I finally did it right, paid a little more, and now I have a happy girlfriend. I am also interested to know how much you paid, if you are willing to share. |

I paid $200 (with a tip) for all 7 + front banner for same-day appointment and lifetime warranty. That extra $20 for a better job is worth it. My windows are pristine.

I paid $180 for the tint job but I had them redo the front the next day to a lighter shade for $70 so $250 total. What I mean by dust bubbles are the small bubbles with spec in it. It is small but noticeable. I have checked out other cars with tint and they do not have as much as I do. I don't know if I should have them redo it or ask for a refund. As for removing it, I have been thinking about it doing myself with a steamer after watching a couple of youtube videos. Since this is my first time getting windows tint, my question to you guys is What is a acceptable tint job and what is not? Also, for the guys who said they have a good tint job, do you mind taking a close up picture of it so I have an idea. Thanks all for your time!

I would have to say you got a deal. I just paid $300 for all my windows. We will see how the quality is after a few weeks. I haven't had any problems with bad tint around here, this was a new shop I am using though.
