Sensitivity adjustment for wipers/lights?

While I like the rain sensing wipers and auto lights, neither works quite to my satisfaction.
The sensing wipers frequently aren't sensitive enough, and the lights need it to be damn near dark to come on. Worse, they come on in the garage, and fool me into thinking they are going to stay on, and then end up shutting themselves off.
I read in the manual that turning on the wipers brings on the lights, but that bears checking.

The only sensitivity adjustments I know are on the wiper stalk. As far as the lights coming on when the wipers come on, that's not when the wipers are set to "Auto" mode. Only when they're on the second and third click up (intermittent?) - simple programming change to fix it? Possibly - but no such update exists yet.

Thnx Praton; that clears up some things. I've just gotten in the habit of popping on the running lights and fogs for this sloppy, dark weather.
