What do you mean to much fuel lol? What about a walbaro? I just don't grab the concept of fuel cell foam, what does it do and how? Like I understand I goes in the tank but what does it do to help an in the tank fuel pump

it kept sucking dry on hard cornering or acceleration at 1/2 tank even with the pick up in the back of the tank. it moves a lot more fuel than a walbro, about double. the a1000 is a 1k hp pump, it was over kill lol

cell foam prevents the fuel from sloshing like crazy

Tim

Understood, for my uses a walbaro is plenty. How is it applied? Like do I just pour it in the fuel or is it a coating that goes on the walls of the tank?

its big blocks of foam. kinda like the sponge that is sitting on your kitchen sink. you just stuff it in there when your putting your pump in

So the pump sits under the blocks of foam to be constantly submerged? How does it stay under the foam blocks though haha wouldn't they just move around as you drive or do you use an adhesive to keep them in place.

...:::UPDATE:::...

Sorry it's been so long ha, freaking college is time consuming. Now that the semester is at an end I can begin the build. I have picked up a spare low mileage svt block from a fellow fanatic and also grabbed so low compression Probe pistons, eagle rods, Clevite bearings.

Changed some of my setup though. I won't be using a KBBAP because there are basically worthless for what I want and won't consistently support 400hp+ so for the beginning 3 months of the build I am just going to use 60lb inj and stock fuel pump to break in the built motor, clutch, torsen LSD, turbo and components. Talked to Tom and he said 275-300hp on stock pump and 60lb inj should be no problem. Once I create a photo bucket account I will post pictures all summer of progress and try to make as compete of a how to as possible with all of the resources I used so anyone wishing to build there motor can have a step by step procedural document showing how to do everything from the motor, to the tranny/clutch/LSD, and turbo components install.

Here is my biggest problems.... Basically there is no way to use a 3inch DP without losing the AC which is not an option because this is a DD. I've seen a lot of Focal jet users stating UK foci owners run up to 400hp on 2 1/2 exhaust And DP. Can anyone second that?

The Torsen LSD as far as I know does not require a shim kit when I look through the how to parts list, can anyone confirm?

I have to use a Comp CT 2 turbo in order to use the SPA mani which is not a concern of mine because comp turbos have great success with DSM and Honda users alike. My biggest concern is clearance of the fans, has anyone has problems with the comps? I was told they will clear fans fine from Tom but I want to double check the foci community to see who's running a similar set up.

Lastly, how the heck am I going to pass inspection with the VCT code and O2 sensors codes popping up with no cat....? Anyone know a way around both these codes?

Here's the new set up.....

Comp CT2 (430hp) with anti surge housing
SPA manifold
TT 3bolt to 38mm 2bolt wastegate adapter
TT 2 1/2inch DP and exhaust with wastegate routed
Tial 38mm wastegate
Turbo Xs RFL BOV
Mishimoto G-Line intercooler (will cut bumper)
DSP MAFia and CFM 3inch MAF tube
Steel braided oil lines with restricters

Probe Std bore low compression pistons
Eagle Rods with arp bolts
Clevite rod and main bearings
ARP head bolts and main studs
High performance oil pump.. If they ever come back in stock.
Crank polished, balanced of course
Brisco Stg 2 spark plugs
Fs werks plug wires
Solid motor and tranny mounts
Gates timing belt kit with new pulley and water pump
Full upper and lower gasket kit
180 deg thermostat

Torsen ATB LSD
New diff bearings and axle seals
ClutchMaster Fx400 kit 6 puck
ARP flywheel bolts

AEM truboost
AEM wideband
Possibly J&S

Engine is going to be tanked, honed, and painted black
Valve cover will be painted gold flake stock injector cover.

Think that's it! Will post pics eventually once the parts starting flowing in later this month!

Any advice or criticism is appreciated so I do it right the first time!

Regards,

Anthony

Just found your thread lol. CM 6 puck clutch is sweet. It has nice pedal feel and doesnt kill your foot like some aftermarket clutches do. You do have to check your shim size when you install the diff but most of the time the stock shim puts it in the preload range.

I had the same problem with my downpipe. Very little clearance between the turbo and ac compressor. I found this on someone elses build thread and i am ordering one for my build very soon.
http://www.designengineering.com/cat...-cast-downpipe I have no idea why i couldnt find this down pipe three years ago but it looks like it will do the trick very nicely.

Im not sure how to get past the vct codes other turning the monitor off in the pcm with your tune if that is possible. Get an o2 cheater for the rear o2 of just turn it off. I have my entire evap system and rear o2 turned off and i dont set a check engine light. I am not sure if the monitors will show complete or incomplete. If the do show incomplete you will not pass emissions inspection. There are certain loopholes in getting past emissions. If you drive less that 5000 miles in one year you are exempt which is what gets me past.Hope that helps some
Matt

Haha Tim just sent me that same freaking link 30 mins ago! He's going to fab me a 3inch dp with that dei piece. It's my DD so less than 5000miles isn't possible. I'm gonna contact Tom and see what he says about the VCT code coming up. O2 cheaters should take care of the codes and not throw an incomplete system so that solves that. Full 3 inch exhaust should flow 400hp, so that also solves my exhaust flow concerns. Thanks for the info Matt, I will continue to investigate the shim kit for the torsen.
