I found this picture under the "snorkel delete" thread and found it interesting because the said picture isn't of my car but of another members. Interestingly enough I have an indentation in the same spot on my car with the addition of a second one on the ridge above the one pictured. I only noticed both of these after removing the factory plastics so this was obviously done on multiple cars down the production line. Why wasn't it fixed? I mean it went through not only the clear coat but through the paint, all the way down to the bare metal.
Here is a picture if mine. There's a larger gouge in a similar spot to the one pictured above but its beneath the factory plastic.

Could be a section of flashing from the manufacturing process.

I think this is the most anal complaint I've ever seen.

Don't worry about the bruise. It won't hurt the car in any way.

It's one of those things they do to make the car useless in 10 years, so it can boost the new car sales. It'll soon grow like a bad rash and whole car will be covered in them.

It's a common thing now on Rangers. Some say its why they stopped producing them.

It's plastic. No need to worry about rust. If its really bothering you just get some touch up paint and go to town.
