will vinyl wrap damage the paint underneath

Hi I'm thinking about vinyl wrapping the hood of my zx3 this summer due to a couple of chips and I just wanted a new look

Posted via FF Mobile. Does anybody know if this will damage the paint. I've heard a couple of horor stories about the wrap in arizonas heat and sun bonding to the paint but here in ohio does this apply?

Thanks

Shouldn't!
I could see it if you buy cheap vinyl

I'm not so worried about hurting the paint as longevity and water spots. Been thinking about Matte black on the roof...actually doing the 2 tone thing and wrapping the wing in 3M carbon fiber..

My son thinks i should do the plastic dip on the top of the car....

Yeah I was also wondering about waterspots can you just wipe them off with detailing spray?

can't go wrong with the dip:) its like 5 bucks a can at home depot! if it ends up not being your cup of tea, just peel it off. just remember the more layers u put on, the easier it is to take off.

Moving this to MK1 Focus. If you bought a good quality clear vinyl you shouldn't have any problems at all.
