Wire harness under passenger seat?

Wondering if you guys could help me out. I have a 2003 ford focus wagon SE model and was planning to install a amp under the passenger seat. When I looked under the passenger seat I noticed that that was a wire loom and a wire harness connected to the bottom of the seat. Keep in mind that my car does not have power seats, heated seats, etc. Just your basic manual seats that move forward or reverse. Would you guys happen to know what exactly that wire harness is used for? and also how to disconnect it? Thanks

If it's the same module on the 1.5 gen, I believe those are for the side impact airbags.

Edit: wait, no, that one is under the carpet I think. You wouldnt be able to see it unless the carpet was out.

Also, this is in the wrong section :) moderators?

not 100% on this, but as a general rule it applies. alot of the newer vehicles are made with only one vehicle body harness. this saves the manufacturer money on making different harnesses for each model and options. they make one harness with every possible connection in it and then it's just whether or not the component is installed. so that very well could be a plug for the heated and power seats that would have been in other models, but the plug just doesn't go to anything in your specific car. usually it's just a pressure clip holding it to the bottom or the seatand can be removed fairly easily. hope that helps.

^^this. I just pulled the wiring harness from my car a few weeks ago and found the harness for a stock sub.. which I never had.
