I just find it hard to believe is all, i drive slower than a lot of people and on flat areas, and some people are getting up to 40mpg going 65mpy, while im getting about the same as the Focus ST only going 55.

i would give it time cold weather killed the mileage on my car was averaging 39 last summer(running ethanol free gas) lucky to get 32 when its below 40 degrees, check the air filter ,and the tire pressure you may want to raise it a couple pounds (i run 40 psi)

How are you calculating your mpg? Are you basing it off of the mpg display in car, or another method? The built in display can be off by quite a bit at times

I tested it both from the display and mathematically on paper. They were both close to each other.

I rose to 43.0mpg right before my turn and I had the cruise set @ 50mph on the highway. I'm in s. Florida it's probably 65f out right now. 2013 se hatch 5-speed.

check the tires. I got my used car with mismatched tires, and it was just right around the estimates. For highway it was right on. at 55-62 mph it would be around 37 against a headwind. ~41+ along a headwind. (Winter blend fuel at that)

i easily gained 3+ mpg with new tires. I think for the most part the new tires help with the city driving more. Don't dip below 28 combined now for my usual work routine.

another thing is fuel used. For me premium works, others don't notice any difference though.

This is my #1 gripe with this vehicle. I have had the car since late December and the MPGs have been average at best. I average around 26 MPGs (currently 25...) It is mostly city driving and stop and go traffic but come on! I try very hard to coast to stops, slowly accelerate, and brake easy.

I brought this up to my car dealer and he said to give it some time. I am not sure how long to give it though.

My gf recently got in my car and said "you only get 25 MPGs... my fusion gets that". The fuel efficiency is very underwhelming! Not happy at all with this.

I too get horrible gas mileage. I drive to and from PA a lot, set my cruise at 65mph and only get 33mpg if I am lucky. Usually its between 30-33mpg. Highest I ever got was during the summer on a trip to Rhode Island where I got 37mpg. Never saw that high of a number again.

Very Disappointing.

Exactly, like if i would have known it was going to get this low of gas mileage, i would have bought the ST version or a 5.0 Mustang!

It depends we have 12 Titanium that my wife drives mostly highway and I drive and 13 ST mostly city I get better MPG then her because the way I drive. She gets 26 to 30 and I get 27 city and my car only has 500 miles.

Some tips on better gas mileage:
Check your tire pressure and wear on the tires
Change the oil to the correct level to much oil is bad
if you use E85 stop its more power but much less MPG
change air filter\
Take the car to for and have for perform a valve cleaning with BG products to get the carbon off the valves direct injection motors collect carbon deposits on valves much faster then a conventional motor
