I have been reading a lot about rattles, speaker buzzes, etc. I'm wondering about the possibility of shooting expanding foam of some kind in the doors, behind a-pillars, etc. I really don't look forward to days and days sitting in the dealership waiting room while they chase down these sounds (I have a speaker buzz in driver's door... I am right at 1800 miles on the car). I'm wondering if the same stuff you spray around electrical outlets to insulate your house would do any good or cause more trouble than it is worth?

I cringe thinking of that stuff if you ever need to get behind the door panel to install/fix anything. That stuff is messy. Look at the dynamat or similar materials or take it to the dealer.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too, my reason for not just doing it.

When I do the install I'll have to pull just about the entire interior anyway, so hopefully any rattles from loose parts will be fixed when I put everything back in. |

If you use fatmat you will have better luck if you heat up the back with a heat gun or a torch like I use. the stuff is notorious for not sticking in place and staying there. Not saying this will fix all it's problems but it will help. For IMO the best choice go to secondskin.com.
