Map Lights and Stereo Volume
Hi guys! I'm the proud new owner of a 2012 Focus Zetec 1.6 TDCi but am having a couple of problems.
1. The interior map lights don't work. They don't come on at the press of a button nor when you open the doors. It isn't the fuse as the same fuse powers the glovebox light which works. Any ideas? 2. The stereo volume is awful! Although you can turn it up to 30, it doesn't get any louder than volume 14! The bass is also too loud - it distorts every song! I don't really want to replace the speakers so was wondering if there's anything else I can do to improve this? |

Try checking the bulbs, they may be burnt out.

Do the dome lights ever come on? There is a common problem with the focus and dome lights not coming on when they're supposed to. Personally, mine come on about 2/3 of the time when I unlock the car and open the door. As of now, I dont know of any solution to the problem. Now, if the dome lights never come on at all, you should definitely bring this up with the dealer. Our dome lights, along with license plate lights are not "user accessible" meaning they are not easy for us to access, however, the dealer should have no problem getting to them. This is because Ford claims that the factory wired LED bulbs should outlast the life of the vehicle.
Now the stereo volume is another story. I also noticed that the volume doesn't go quite as loud as i'd like it either. I doubt you have a factory subwoofer(big bass speaker in the truck) because here in the US that is only available with the sony sound system, which im assuming you don't have because you would probably not be complaining about that one lol. But one thing you can do is play with the sound settings. Turn the bass down to 2 or 3 to the left of the middle section and see how that sounds. Everyone prefers the settings a little different due to different genres of music, but there are a few threads on some preferences. Hope this helps!! |
