Hey Chris= Price out a 23. Then see how much your motor w/ those miles on it. My car just flipped 59,000. I like driving this little 4 cylinder car. Then tell her, hey babe, I'm pulling in a new motor in the car. Thats what I do. I've bought a couple gt40 frpp motors before & others before those. She'll maybe say, Does it need it? Then you'll say of course it does, you think I do this for the fun of it? Then she'll say oh, OK. Then your good to go.

Yup something like that. Thats really overkill. You should be able to find a desent motor cheaper then that. By the way that head is empty= you need to supply your 1-2mm bigger stainless steel valve's/spring's/retainers etc.

Wow that is way less expensive than I was thinking. I thought it would cost around 3k for a newer engine. Would the 2.3 bolt right up to the mtx75?

Sure would. Google or yahoo or whatever search engine is your friend. Google 23mzr for sale. Just make sure you don't get the mazda ones w/ the cam senser or whatever it is.

In the same light, will it matter if its from an 03-04 vs 05-07? Pretty much if it says it was attached to an auto trans you know it was from pre-05. would that make a difference at all?

No, as the mtx would bolt up. Any '03-'07 23 would work, including ones out of fusion's & Escape's.

Yeh, That'd work Chris. Evertime I see one its all so temping. Why do you do this for Chris? I've been eyeing those for yrs now. I just keep telling my self the oem 23 w/ the dual runner is better for a DD. I love that manifold thou.
