Thanks for putting up the pic. Yeah, for as long as it doesn't block the USB ports I'd be in for one at $20.

op, thanks for putting in the effort i'll most likely be picking one up when you are ready. Arn't 3d printers cool!

TehMark, the tray looks like it completely covers the compartment in the center cubby. As far as the usb ports go, thats what drills and usb extensions are for.

Mock Up Photos

Here's the exclusive mock up photos. If you have any questions or suggestions, give me a shout!

The Center Console:

The Abyss (the cd's are my little brother's lol):

What's this? A new home for our tray?

Let's put the wallet in there, it's not comfortable sitting on it for long drives.

Time to close it up.

So neat and tidy!

Oh I put my keys in there too.

Easy to remove, just pull it out.

For my American friends, a comparison of our quarters.

This was the usb stick that was stuck in the console when I installed the tray. Gives you an idea of the clearance.

I over-designed, whoops. Looks like tab at the back is not needed!

AND an important note to everyone who wants "access to usb". I am planning to have a small cutout at the back of the tray (the thin area) for you to thread your usb cable through. But if you want to have the whole corner open, I will add an option to help you cut off that corner. Whew, looks pretty OEM, eh?

I've already rep'd you for this idea.

But this is fantastic man, seriously. To add a shot for comparison purposes showing the distinction between OEM and yours, I submit this.

There isn't nearly the room available in the OEM versus yours. You can see a pen doesn't even fit w/o being placed at an angle.

Thanks for these comparison pictures! I really appreciate your support (everyone's support!)! Why does your tray look a little warped at the back? Did you try to put your pen in there straight?

Also another message to everyone, I have updated the project news and timeline. Please take a look at posts #1-3 if you are curious.

No. I don't know that I can give an accurate answer to your question because,

I noticed too and have come to the conclusion that it's because there is ZERO support back there.
