Who says your supplier has to come along for the ride? approach them with the schematics and the design, not the finished product!

Perhaps don't. That race to the bottom means long term you have no paying customers.

Oh please... Don't make this political. Having a comparative advantage in unskilled labor is nothing to be proud of. If a consumer can pay half the price for the same thing they'd be stupid to do otherwise. The future of developed economies is in technical and skilled labor.

Oh, please, not everything is political. Simple economics for our country which is suffering from a massive trade imbalance. People would be stupid to think short term cheap vs long term viability. Sorry but blue collar jobs matter, too.

Blah blah blah. I want this product, but for it to come to fruition. OP is going to have to do it by other means.

I'm with Faygo Focus! We need to think of more than just our own need to get stuff cheap. Quality is worth paying for and domestic jobs are worth even more. We MUST have blue collar jobs here in the USA. THAT is where the economy is. Blue Collar middle class is what drives the economy, not the rich or the poor.

Im in!

My main reasons for gettin in this is:

1) You are trying to start something on your own.
2) And the main reason I'm in is because you said it isn't worth doing if it can't be done in North America!

We really need more people to start feeling that way! and I appreciate you for feeling the way you do.

Follow the project page, things look quite grim at the moment as the project has not come near its goal.

Do you think there might be a chance to get this onto Kickstarter somehow? I know it is not open to Canadians, which is disappointing, but is there a way around this? Say if you had an "American Partner" or something of the likes. Just throwing it out there as Kickstarter might have a better chance of success.
