Ford is moving the 2.0L EcoBoost production

Just saw this on the local news. Ford is moving the 2.0L EB production from Spain to the Cleveland engine plant.

Now maybe we can get the 2.0 EB in our American spec focii.

I'm guessing this is partially related to the quality control issues (fires) they were having with the 1.6.

If you want a normal AT bad enough, and you have the coin, swap in a 2.0L Eb motor and trans out of a 13 fusion or escape. The engine is the same as the focus ST just tuned for slightly lower HP and the trans is the 6F35 the same one used in 2010-12 fusions.

Hey I can wish If I was going to do that I would probably just get a Fusion and skip the hassle and lost investment of an engine swap

Just realized I posted the wrong engine. They are moving the 2.0 EB to Cleveland not the 1.6

I was wondering about that. Based on quality control issues, Ford should move 1.6 production to the US. The following is from the oracle, Wikipedia.

The V6 EcoBoost engines are being assembled at Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1in Brook Park, Ohio. The 2.0 L I4 EcoBoost engines will be produced at the Ford Valencia Engine Plant in Spain in 2009. The 1.6 L I4 EcoBoost engines will be made at the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant in the United Kingdom. The future small displacement I3 EcoBoost engine will be produced both at the Ford Cologne Engine Plant in Germany and at Ford Romania.
