2008-2011 Focus w/manual trans

To start things off, I been on focus fanatics for a while now and I love it! I currently own a 2002, so I have been browsing all the mk1 and zetec forums. Here recently out of curiosity I been browsing craigslist for the second gen foci. I really am leaning to a 5 speed. Is there that many stick second gens out there? In the Cincinnati area it seems that there is maybe two out of 25 focuses that are stick over automatic.

I believe any car nowadays are more easily found auto rather than manual. Some companys are even making their vehicles only come in auto. But really if your leaning towards getting a manual, than go for it!

remember the general public buys these cars for an economical commuter rather than a performance car hence finding more atx than mtx. There are a couple on here for sale that are mtx if you're interested; mine included.

The only issue I've had with mine (and seen with others) is the clutch return spring breaks on them. not a big deal, just means the pedal may not come all the way back out. only issue with it is when it's cold it rests on the cruise shutoff switch. just have to lift the pedal with your foot to set the cruise.

When I bought my car back in '09 there was only 2 5spds on the whole lot. And they were in the back where they store the cars. I had to go track them down.

I been looking around for what people have to say about them, and I see nothing but good things.

I'm trying to, I was curious to test the waters and see what's out there. In the end it'll pay off looking around ;)

I'm not bashing an automatic, I just really love my 5 speeds. But you got a great point, everything is automatic anymore.

They had to ship mine in from another dealer from a good 150 miles away. They had like 5 autos on the lot. I even test drove an auto.

They exist. You might end up with options/color you don't want because of it but they do exist.

I almost had a black '11 SES with moon'and'tune package, heated leather seats, the works but it was an auto so I went with the grey one with standard audio, cloth seats, no moonroof because it had a 5 speed.
