Thanks for this build thread man. I really miss my ZX2. I had a 2000 for quite a while. When you have kids and your wife wants something bigger than a 2 door, tough decisions have to be made. After owning 33 cars before age 26, I would say the ZX2 is the one I miss the most.

haha yes^ I've had 8 cars so far, and I'm 20. (5 of which were zx2's) I know that my girlfriend is going to want more than 2 doors but that's when I DONT sell the zx2, I'll just make it my weekend driver :)
and no, I am no longer on cut springs lol. that changed a while ago, But i havent had much time to upload more pictures..

old cut springs compared to brand new ground controls
   I've done the Rear disk swap (8/17/12)  the long bolt proved to be a big pain... had to get new bolts and cut the old ones  the finished product   September 8th, i went to have a custom header and downpipe made, as the current header had cracked through, after already fixing it once. had to get one with a good thick high grade metal professionally tig welded at a fabrication shop. old header, cracked through  new header metal pieces.  size difference of new header material  in progress.   saw this sticker on his toolbox, had to post this.  and the finished product!

Looks great so far. Looks like you have a lot of time and money into it. My buddy just got a ZX2, so i'm interested to see what can be done to these.

very NICE JOB.
i too love the escorts. had 4 of them and interchanged parts when needed. heres mine 91 escort gt loved this car. was my first car. went thru the same build process as you.

Nice... I was looking looking for a ZX2 S/R but I couldn't find one that wasn't red at the time. I ended up getting a Red Focus SVT anyway.
