ok...not sure what any of this has to do with the thread topic... :/
Anyway, I set up a time this saturday to go look at the car and talk to him some about it. Any suggestions on thing I should look for, ask, inspect? I've only recently been learning about these cars, so any experienced input would help. |

honestly if i had the money to spend i wouldnt even have to inspect that car to buy it. however what i WOULD do is contact tom from focus-power. he is a very good tuner for the focus. his screen name on this site is 1turbofocus. tell him you are looking at buying this car, give him a link to it so he can see what all is done. tell him you want him to look at some datalogs on saturday. take your laptop with you and an old printer cable with the square connector with 2 of the 4 corners being rounded. im sure the guy that owns the car will be familiar with this and will probably be able to help and if not and you have access to the internet over there you can contact tom over instant messenger or just call him and he can walk you through the process of hooking your laptop up to the car and making a datalog. you e-mail that to tom, further inspect the car for boost/vacuum leaks, oil leaks, ticking from spun bearings, leaking thermostat housing, pops/squeaks in the suspension, etc. if this car is not done being tuned then you wont really know for sure how tight everything is until you finish tuning it and really put it through the ringer unfortunately.

I want his 5-lug hubs!! ohhhhhh forever alone face.
Guys, If I wasn't disabled, I would go with a twin disc any day for the power I'm achieving. My Lentech cost $6460.00, and that's without a transbrake. Now Quaife did make a sequential getrag, but stopped. That was my first choice.

5 lug conversion is pretty easy rudel. just gotta spend some money on pretty much all new suspension.
the 10.95 was not done with the 723whp focus. it was only at 540 or so whp at the time. he says so in that thread. the car hit 723 after that date. you just wanted the mph for that run Tim

Alright Twin disk time lol Twin at first for Chris (when he bought my car) said it was difficult for him to get use to the clutch after never driving a TD car before, Me on the other hand have driven them and it came very easy for me. Chris now has gotten use to the clutch and will say its just as easy to slip and drive it as a normal clutch, The difference is getting use to a totally new way of how the clutch feels and what it likes, once you get past that then its the best purchase you will ever make. TD clutch life according to CM says you should check it at 15-20k miles and see how much life is left. I will only comment on how it last after looking at my old cars clutch when it reaches that mileage, hell it might last much longer then 20k miles since now it only sees street use. So as of right now no one knows how long they will last, But the best thing about them is they are rebuildable for 300.00 you will get all new disk and springs so that in its self saves huge money. Lentech Honestly the only lentech i have been able to touch is mikes, which has a price tag of over 6000 dollars for the terminator one with out transbrake so it is already over 4times more expensive then a twin disks. Auto trans need to be freshen up also so that would mean sending it out to lentech at whatever they charge to replace, the wet clutches, drums, whatever is worn at $xxx dollars. I cannot comment on there reliability as mike has does not have enough miles and honestly i only trust what i have personally seen, a trans will last longer doing shitty 60fts, i wanna see how long it last when you push it. We will find out on Mikes car thats for sure. going for atleast low 1.6 60fts. So to wrap it up i still feel the twindisk is a much better option, until i can see how mikes trans hold up finger crossed cause we wont be easy on it.
