Unhappy Thinking about ST.

Hi everyone, thought I would check in because I mostly browse/lurk and don't actually sign in and post very often.

I decided to drive by my local dealership this afternoon and discovered they brought in a TB ST now, and no longer have only Tangerine. Here is mine parked near it.

Although I have seen a black one in person before, it wasn't locally and getting an ST was out of the question because I commuted for work and really wouldn't be enjoying the car that much.

Now I have a new job... with virtually no commute and am thinking...

- Should I get new summer wheels on my SE?

(It's probably not going to snow again for the year now. I do have my stock all seasons so I don't -have- to get new wheels, but if I keep the SE for a while I definitely want to get nicer wheels.)

- Should I skip the wheels and look at an ST already?

- Should I wait until there are more lightly used STs? But if so, will my '12 be worth anything on a trade in...

(It has about 25k km on it now.)

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

After your trade in, I wouldn't be surprised if you owed $20K on top of it for an ST. Keep that figure in mind.

An ST will definitely require two sets of wheels/tires so add that to the cost too.

If you really want an ST, I say go for it. It won't be cheap though.

I'm having trouble finding any wheels I really like in this bolt pattern but while I personally like the Tangerine color I imagine that black ST would like awesome in the sunlight

As far as trading hey why not see how much its going to cost you and then make a decision. See what they want for the ST first and then see what they will give you for your current car.

These would look pretty good OP if you decided to go that route.

Ya, just see how much it will cost to switch. If you don't get at least what you owe on your Focus then maybe hold on for another year. Otherwise just check and see whats offered and what's affordable to you. Good luck.

^ this. Negative equity generally is not a good idea like Ox-y-GenIII says. It kind of sucks to see how much our cars have depreciated but thats just how things work.

I will say unless you bought your car used you probably are not going to get enough to cover what you owe and will have to roll some negative equity into your new loan, keep that in mind
