I had a 1971 Mustang Mach I and let it go in 1979 to make room for a much more reliable Toyota Corrola. The Mustang had the 351 Cleveland in it but it was, like the rest of the mechanicals and electricals, not running well so I sold it to get the Toyota. The body was near perfect and if I'd held onto it and fixed the issues it would be worth some serious coin today...

Excursion

I had a 2001 Excursion that I really liked, 7.3L Powerstroke, was the best vacation vehicle EVER. Got about 23 mpg on the highway, 18 around town, and had room inside for everyone and everything. I should have my head examined for letting it go. Sigh.

I somewhat regret selling my 99' Infiniti Q45t. It was the smoothest riding, most comfortable car ever. It was my first car I bought in high school. I'm in good with the sheriffs office around here and when they had their impound auction i had dibs on this car. It was owned by a coke dealer who stored the stash in the seats. the 2 front seats were torn to hell but i got some nice leather covers for them. I got it for $2550. the windows were blacked out, i'd say 5% all the way around, had a Bose sound system and sport mode was a blast. as big and heavy as it was the 4.1l V8 was a monster, i could burn the tires right off the back. after awhile, the knock got worse and it was down to 6 cylinders, with the exhaust rusting off (northern car). Put her on craigslist and within a week I had a few people come 4 hours away and drive it back to richmond. sold it for $3300. Miss the 4 doors, the rear wheel drive, the luxury, but i don't miss the 16 mpg.

It wouldn't be a Yenko Camaro if it was a recreation.

Yes, it was a genuine 1969 Yenko Camaro. That car was the best car I've ever driven. Put modern day high performance tires on these old performance cars and they are a joy to drive. With that much power and torque on tap, you can drive the car in ways you can't drive an average car. A pure joy! Bone stock, 0-60 mph in 4 seconds flat, all day long and a top speed somewhere around 165-170 mph. Not quite sure because the speedometer only went up to 140 mph...only. lol At 8,600 RPM though, she was roaring Chevy big block L-72 427/450 horse thunder! There was not a car in the area that could keep up with her. I'd upload a picture for you, but I don't see how to do that here.

I have so many fond memories of so many great experiences with that car that can never be repeated. Some things in life are worth more than money and that car was one of them. Now she's met the horrible fate of being imprisoned in storage only to see the light of day once or twice a year at car shows. A terrible fate for the best car I've ever driven in my life, bar none. She used to tear up the competition and spit them out at S.C.C.A. autocross racing events! How I miss that wonderful car...
