Hey guys,
So my girlfriend as a 2000 ZX3 with a bad alternator. I've opted to take the job in replacing it but I'm finding conflicting reviews on which alternator to get (aftermarket vs OEM) and also getting it rebuilt by a local shop. I've found aftermarket ones online for about $100, and some upwards in the 200+ range. Then there's refurbished ones which I'm hesitant to even consider. Can anyone give me some advice on which to get? Money is certainly an issue. Thanks in advance! |

It might be cheaper to have a local shop rebuild it. Call em up and ask how much it would be to get rebuilt. Then go from there as far as money goes. I've ran an aftermarket one for a few years now on mine but its a high output one. No issues.

Have a local shop rebuild it if you can deal with the few day lead time it usually takes.
