1998 Focus Over Heating

Fist off this is from one of the social groups and I am reposting it here so there will be more hits. (I don't know how or if being the creator of a group if I get to move a thread.)

‘I have a focus 1998 and its keeps over heating I've took it 2 a few garages they have said that its either my water pump or my thermastat, however I took it to another garage and they have told me I have a leak in one ov my pipes, when I start my car the engine management light comes on and my multifunction light comes on and if I go anywhere in it for more than 15 mins my temperature gauge shoot into the red and I haft to stop. Can anyone give me any advice please’ –Ashshaw69

Only those with moderator status in that area will be able to move/edit threads. I have given this thread a more descriptive title and moved it to the technical chat area. It should get the best responses over there.
