Oh yeah,the fun factor will be huge with the ST. My DSM raped my Type R in a straight line and had over 150 more horses but the R around a road course or in the twisties was so much more fun and a controlled drive vs the same road course with my Eclipse which was just so ham-fisted when it came to corners kinda like my STI is which that doesn't compare to the Type R either.

That's how I see it. I plan on keeping my ZX3 for a while, but if the Fiesta ST is as good as I think it'll be, and it can return the mileage I want...I'll get one. I already like the base Fiesta enough to consider one as a replacement for my Focus.

I believe it was already pointed out up above but yeah, the SVT was adequate for a short period of time when it first came out in 2002, competing against the underwhelming EP3 Civic Si hatch. Then Subaru started selling the WRX here, and Mitsubishi the Evo, and suddenly that SVT seemed slow. Even average cars and trucks have seen such power increases in the last 10 years; driving the SVT I used to get my doors blown off by moms in Toyota Sienna minivans. Hell, my GTO could be embarrassed by any number of run-of-the-mill sedans.

So having said that, I like the Fiesta ST, and I appreciate the total package. But I wouldn't get one expecting a pocket rocket. Not stock, anyway. I'd get one for the same reason I got an SVTF, it's the top trim level and you get all the goodies in a well-rounded package. But you have to pretend you didn't notice that minivan that wasted you when the light turned green.

Even worse, your friend with an Altima that has the CVT hang right with you, and if you miss a gear, you'll be laughed at for a long time.

Thaaaat is way true for a car that is barely under a 7 sec 0-60 time. Yes I know, it's 0-62, but you're on crack if you think that will diminish the time by much than 2 tenths. I have my otherworldly reasons for not wanting any new car by any maker right now, but I like the little Fiestas. If I got one, it would be the ST.

nobody,im just speaking my mind the only performance sedan we got was the ST,yet hatches get the svt,roush,saleen,rs,st etc. oh yeah we would've gotten that racecraft sedan but that got cancelled lol

I wouldn't mind a sedan Focus ST, but IMO the Fiesta sedan is one of the ugliest cars on the road today. Its proportions are just way off.

yeah im not a fan of the current design but the 2014 model looks more appealing to me. i found this rendering:

IDk... the trunk is way too long or something on the back of the sedan, if they could come up with a valence or some other way to make it look less hideous, then I think it would be pretty sweet lol
