Just got to work. I didnt try any AM stations (dont really listen to any so I wouldnt have any to compare any way). But there is one particular FM station that would come in clear at work, but start breaking up as I got closer to home (about 35 miles) with the stock antenna. Surprisingly with the little stubby it was clear the whole way.

So in my opinion there was no difference, and maybe a little bit better than the stock set up. However I do live in the land of flatness. No hills or mountains to compete with.

I found a keeper. Doesn't mess up signal and I still maintain Sirius and my GPS tracker.

Do you have a link to where you bought it? Or, at least a brand and part number. I like the looks of it.

Do the MK3s have a male or female antenna. I read up above someone said VW antenna. I have a vw antenna on my mazda (male) and it works great.

Just adding my .02 cents about the vw antenna.

Is there a clearly superior shorty? Thinking about getting one, but I live in the 'burbs between Cleveland and Akron so reception is pretty important since I listen to stations from both cities.
