Short antenna -

Anyone upgrade to a short antenna yet? Any radio reception lost?

I just got mine in and will test it out later today.

I upgraded to the Sick Speed short antenna last year. The only reception I lost was in my garage.

I have one but I haven't noticed a difference in radio reception. I live in the city though.

Which shorty antenna's are you guys going with?

I went with the ECS Billet Aluminum Antenna "Sharan" Style, they are for VW's but have the same thread so they fit.

If you live in or near the FM transmitter towers, no worries. If you don't have mountains or forests between you and the towers, OK. If you live in the sticks like I do, you won't be happy. My SVT came with an exquisite shorty antenna, and on the trip from Tulsa, where we bought the car (thanks Barry), home to eastern Maine, it was obvious that FM reception was going to be an issue. I sold the shorty, ironically to an FJ member near Tulsa, and replaced it with a new, stock antenna mast. Problem solved.
