IMRC fix in houston
soooo finally pulled my codes and i have the p1518 so im thinking about doing the IMRC repair. anyone in htown done it before and wanna lend a hand? i also dont have a soldering iron but i can get my hands on one. i would be thinking about doing this on a sunday most likely, since ive got school most of the day sat.

Unbolted it from the car
Then unscrewed the back cover. Then I had just enough space to get a small flathead in there. I ziptied a small piece of fine sandpaper on the tip. Cleaned the contacts. Then just put some rtv around the edge and screwed the back cover on. This will only work if it's not actually broken on the inside. There is a plastic wheel that tends to break.

well, you can shake the module.. but you will always hear some rattle, due to the gears for the motor...
other than that, i don't know, other than opening it up and looking.

yeah its really easy to open up..
and you can get a small thing of RTV at autozone/pepboys/oreilly's/etc really cheap.. maybe 3 bucks... just to keep the moisture out just unscrew it and then maybe use a flathead to pry it open cuz of the rtv.

o can you see the gears without having to take off the board? now that i think about it i guess you can haha

yeah, you can see them.. you have some "play" room once you undo the cover and unscrew the board..
