Key Fob no longer working

I believe it started shortly after installing the 3.5.1 MFT Update. I don't think it's related, but I can no longer lock/unlock my car with my key fob. I thought it was the battery so I replaced, but no success.

I checked the manual and didn't see anything about it losing programming or how to program. Anyone else experience this and have a fix, or do I need to take it to the dealer?

Thanks

But take both sets with you, so they can be cloned together.

I tried both with new batteries in both. Of course one went through the washer but maybe they can replace it for me since both don't work.

In my '11 the manual says to close all the doors and have them all unlocked. Put the key into the ignition and turn it from off to on 8 times and stopping on the on position on the 8th time. It will lock and unlock the doors you have 20sec to push any button on the fob the car will do the lock thing again to say it knows this is the fob to listen to. Turn the key to the off position and locks will pop again and you should be good to go. Hope that helps.

I tried this with no success. By turning it on do you mean start the car or just turn it to the ON position? I turned it to the ON position because it just doesn't seem like a smart thing to do to start and stop a car in quick succession like that.

Hi tehreflex,

Swinging by the dealership is a good next step; they'll be in the best position to get this resolved for you. I'm happy to get your case escalated to your regional customer service manager; just send me a PM with your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name. I'll do the rest!
