I have the worst luck...

On Friday I wen't out for a nice drive in my Ti since it was a pretty nice day here in Jersey. Coming across an intersection at a light I was cut off by a Chevy S10 making a right onto the street I was headed... He jumped in my lane when I was about a car length behind him. I ended up running up on the low median, came around him and jumped off the median to avoid the street light at the end and just as I did he rear ended me hard.

No worries about me. I am physically okay, happy I didn't rear end him and had enough reaction time to move but sad my focus is all banged up :(

Here's a pic of the intersection to better explain it (I am blue, he's red and yes, those lines are accurate):

Here's some of the damage:

And the S10 that hit me:

Probably going to look around a bit more, especially in the spare tire well to see if I can see any more damage. Thankfully the cop gave him a summons and told me it wasn't my fault, which obviously it wasn't. Thankfully I didn't hit the pole nor did the airbags go off.

Sucks man, hope he had insurance, and enough cash to pay any deductible. Good luck.

People around here do that all the time, too. Can't people learn some common road respect?

usually you want the airbags to go off, because they automatically total the car andyou get a new one

Lucky for you that you were not injured and that you weren't sighted (didnt sound like your fault but sometimes the cops see it otherwise.) Sounds like its going to be up to his insurance to get you all fixed up.

Nice to hear you're okay but damn, these new car bumpers offer no protection at all in a low speed collision. They use to at least use a Styrofoam energy isolator for some body protection but not anymore.

Actually these new bumpers do exactly what they are designed to do, take the force of the impact and crumple, instead of the old ones that remained solid and sent that nice impact force through the rest of car and passengers.
The trucks damaged shows how that solid bumper did not absorb the energy at all as it is intact, but you can see that the force was sent through the whole grille, headlamps and betcha the driver felt a good jolt of not so nice energy as well.

I don't mean to be rude...but it wasn't his fault. He pulled in front of you and almost caused an accident...that was his fault. Then you drove over the median, twice, and he rear-ended you.

Most places would put the blame fully on you since you crossed the median like that.
