Milton, the only key we have is the Ford original, and using it is still an intermittent start. As far as the starter, it was both the starter and the solenoid. Whynotthinkwhynot, thanks I knew there was probably another interlock somewhere, that is why I would shift to drive, and back to park. If anyone knows where the neutral safety switch might be, or the ignition relays are, I could use the help. Thanks in advance.

I thought I sent you that in PM. Fuse and relay information is in your owner's manual. Owner's manuals are available in PDF form online, but the starter relay should be in the same location as the 06.

Here, it took Bing and a few seconds. You can also go to Owner.Ford.com and search there.

The N/S switch is in the transmission, or on top of the transmission IIRC. I don't have an AT, so I don't know.

Whynot, thanks I had found the 2006 layout, and couldn't find my sons owners manual, therefore the confusion about the relays. When I get in tonight I will give it a shot. Again, thanks.

Whynot, I pm'ed you back with some info. Yes, you did send me the info, I just didn't realize that I would get this kind of support as a new member of the forum. I am going to assume you must be some form of moderator or admin, you have a lot of knowledge. I'm new to the rep thing, but I think I got one to you. Thanks again to all, I'm now off to figure out how to change the Neutral Safety switch.

STOP!!! Hope you have not spent too much money yet. Just fixed my daughters 2008 with the same problem. I posted a link yesterday titled, "Steering Column - Ignition Problem Solved". I think you also have the same problem inside the steering column and others out there are going to have the same problem on 08 and newer models.

My post details how to change the part. Good luck!
