Opinions on this Subaru

Once again I have found a guy who wants to trade me for my jeep. This is what he has offered:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/3806872283.html

The subaru has 2 issues besides the title (which I carfaxed and am comfortable with what happened).

It overheats (maybe radiator, hoses, etc) and the clutch has engagement issues.

Does anyone have any knowledge of WRX's and is willing to share their thoughts and opinions on this one. The guy had this thing built and tuned at some shop and has all of the receipts. Also, I would have to tow the subaru home from Kelso so I am thinking I am going to have to rent a trailer. I dunno, the subaru seems cool but I dont want to make a stupid decision. Especially because my wife will steal my focus if the wrx turns lemony.

hate to tell you this but replacing a clutch on a wrx takes more than a weekend to do yourself and a garage will charge out the a$$. over heating could be simple like a stuck open thermostat or rad cap

Yea the overheating is probably an easy fix. The clutch however sounds like it needs to be replaced. at that point I dunno if its worth the trade.

Well put it this way. A luk clutch for that car is like 400 bux. Then garage fees are say from 500 to 800 bux. There's a good chunk of change for repair work he also said the front bumper actually got torn off before...that's a little tacky. Just for shits and giggles if I did a side job this summer and earned say 3 grand id offer it to him just because of the. Mileage and what not. The benefit of that year wrx thou is its the lightest of them all. And he has the ugraded turbo so u don't have to worry about baby dick powerband. Imo ona 1-10 scale id give it a 6 maybe a 7

Lol ok ok so I guess the scooby or whatever is nixed. I get several emails a day offering up some sort of trade for my jeep so I will ask yalls opinion when I get the next offer that I might consider. Kind of a bummer cause I know that could be a fun car for me wife but its probably just a massive headache now.

Looks like he has the pretty standard 300whp setup on it. For a salvage title though, id probably avoid it. The wrx trans is only good for 300whp, so you are sort of asking for it with an old wrx that has obviously been driven hard.
