MK2 Focus Resistor Pack Location?
Hi guys,
New to the forum. Sorry for the newbie post but i have been searching for over an hour and cant find the answer. I have a MK2 1.6 Petrol Focus (2005) and the blower only works on 4 (not 1 to 3) so it is obviously the resistor pack problem. However i cant find where the resistor pack is located on the Mk2? It seems every thread on here is for the Mk1 where it is behind the glove box, but on the MK2 i dont know if its inside or outside the car? The thread below seems to be the only relevant one, but the picture has been removed. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...ghlight=blower Can anyone help please? Thanks Chris. |

Let me bust out the 4" thick shop manual I bought
Right behind the glove box (folds down) 1. lower the glove compartment 2. disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector 3. detach and remove the blower motor resistor. Remove it from the housing by sliding the resistor to the right and lift upward. 4. OEM one is not held in with a screw, it slides and locks in place but there is a hole for a screw if ever necessary. (like if an aftermarket one doesn't come with the slide lock). |

Hi, thanks for the reply bud.
Dont think its the same unfortunately. I removed the glovebox (7x screws) and then behind there was a large white fuse panel, plus lots of other stuff. Looked at every connection and none of them stood out as being the resistor pack. There was a very large cylinder behind there and off towards the center, im assuming this is the fan? Its approx 6" in diameter and 9" long. I've attached some pics... do these help anyone identify the location? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() white plug on the left hand side with four pin connector. just a thought, maybe incorrect. OEM resistors typically are off color of the Heater/fan assy. I.E Ford Blue or White

Looks like it's probably the white thing that has a harness plugged into it just under the blower motor. Seems like it anyway.
edit: whoops. I just posted as soon as I saw it. Glad to hear you found it.
