Focus 4F27E automatic trasmission question
Hey guys I was doing some research and I found that the stock 4f27e transmission is almost "maxed out " when it comes to torque capacity on a stock zetec. I was wondering if when ford put the 2.0 duratec in the focus in 2005 did they do anything to upgrade the torque capacity of the transmission seeing how the duratec has more power than the zetec. I read somewhere that ford.upgraded the clutch packs when they put in the duratec, is this true? I can't remember where I read it.
Thanks. Posted via FF Mobile |

Posted via FF Mobile The trans is rated for something like 150 ft/lbs to the wheels. Idk if they did, but they wouldnt really need to upgrade as the duratec is still not making that much power. From 2004-2005, the focus only gained like 6hp and 5ft lbs of tq. 08 it was slightly more, but still not enough that the trans wouldnt be able to handle it.
