Winter tire on ST wheels

Hey guys, I'm looking at winter tires for my ST wheels.
What size and brand do you guys recommend?
Not looking for anything fancy. Almost would consider an all season tire like a continental DWS tire.
What do you think?

i think living in toronto, especially considering the weather right now, that all season tires are a stupid compromise.

Any snow tire, even the knockoff chinese brands would be a million times better than an all season in the snow.

one i've had success with is the general altimax arctic. great performance with a bargain price tag.

i dont know the size of your wheels, so i cant comment on sizing, but in general i would suggest a small diameter wheel, 15 or 16" (depending on brake clearance) and tires to match. its way cheaper than trying to find tires for 17 or 18" wheels.

^ what he said. Even down here in Detroit I use snow tires. We havent seen a lot of snow the last 2 years, but it gives me piece of mind knowing that if it did snow a lot, I am prepared.

I have used Cooper winter tires and Hankook I-pike's (same tread design as the General's) they are awesome. I cant afford the high dollar Michellin's and such, but these have made a world of difference for me.

If you can afford it - make it easy on yourself and get a second set of wheels for the snow tires.... you wont regret it!
