Just installed AEM CAI...

I just installed a shiny red AEM cold air intake on my '02 SVT. I also did the Getrag counterweight removal.

What do you all do with the big hole left from the airbox removal? Is there any way to dress it up?

Some people have dressed it up and other's have just left it open to see the Cold Air all they way down.

It will be a custom dress up if you decide to cover it.

Dress it up that area real good by deleting the black bracket and adding a polyeurothane drivers side mount. That's what I did when I had my aem cai. Cleans up the area quite a bit. Also, I placed washers underneath the motor mont to take up the space previously occupied by the bracket.

Interesting. I definately will remove the bracket, I was bummed that the upper turn was the only visible part of the CAI. Removing the brack should expose more. As for the mount, all I see are mounts with round bushings. Is this considered an engine mount or transmission mount? Can you replace just one without having the engine torque unevenly on the other mounts under load?

He should definitely feel great in the cooler weather and have a bit more pick up. I know when I changed to the AEM Cold Air Intake, it felt great on pick up.

That's the drivers side mount. I guess you could change just one, but the one people usually just change is the lower trans mount. I'd take pictures but I went back to a stock air box.

I had a turbo Tom battery box that used a slim battery, really made the cai stick out because you could see the lower half.
