WTB metal valve cover to replace plastin on 01 zx3

I'm having a "oil seep" from my valve cover. im waiting to replace my gasket because I would like to upgrade from plastic to metal valve cover. i have a 2001 zx3 16v zetec dohc. I saw that contour covers will work, does anyone know if this would be a direct swap only needing a new gasket? or if other parts would be needed.

thank you

See if you can source a '96 Contour zetec valve cover. They fit like crazy! I just had one powdercoated to match the car and it's dead-sexy. Make sure you get a threaded oil cap (FSWerks has some good ones on clearance right now) and the spacers. If you go to a pick 'n' pull junkyards make sure to grab the spacers and o-rings that go between the mounting hardware and valve cover, although the new gasket kit should include these)...

Note the shitty Stant oil cap from when I realized the OEM cap would not be transferring over...

That looks really good.

I have 2 of them that will need to be prepped b4 painting. If powder coating the shop would take care of that.

Blue5ive, how much for the unprepped covers? What year are they off of? How about the hardware?

Someone sent me a link for the hardware; it was $25 + shipping.

Massive will sell you an install kit if you have your own Contour valve cover. Their kit includes new hardware, o-rings and spacers, a fel-pro gasket and an oil cap for $120

They're both contour metal valve covers which if I'm now mistaken should be the same from year to year. They look like Mile30's and the ones from Massive and fit our 2.0 zetec engines. Don't have any hardware cuz I bought them by themselves. Would probably sell one for $25+shipping.

Plan to keep one of them for sure so I can eventually get it powder coated. Just got to figure out what color LOL. Then I will need to get the hardware kit as well but that may not be until next year.

Do you know if there it's an actual benefit in switching to the metal cover. Are the plastic ones exceptionally weak or something?. I have a leak because of a collapsed PCV hose and I just want to do everything to make sure my valve cover doesn't leak again before I degrease my engine. It would suck to replace the gasket again and have my plastic cover be faulty.
