What level Nav data should I have?

My understanding is that the A4 card is the latest nav data, but my 2013 Titanium will only accept the A3 card.

The service guys say that nothing is wrong, that I am up to date and the A4 card is not supposed to be available for my car. This doesn't make sense to me since I have to be able to get updated nav data somehow.

Does anyone else with a 2013 with nav have the A4 card? Am I wrong about A4 being the latest data?

The A4 card is the latest but it only works with MFT v3.5.1. If your A3 card is working then you have v3.2.2 or 3.0.2. The 3.5.1 update is available for download over at syncmyride.com and you should be able to order a new nav card which you would need because the A3 card will not work with v3.5.1. Everyone on here is reporting that their cards arrived in a couple of days after order.

Thanks. That at least validates my understanding that the latest data is in the A4 card.

Unfortunately, my car is only accepting the A3 card while the system info and SMR tell me that I have 3.5.1
The service guy says that I need to use the A3 card.

Since you don't really have 3.5.1, you can install it (or a competent dealer can do it).

I wonder if he knows where the engine is located.

SMR notes "Sync VersionGen2 - V3.5.1"

The service manager insists that they followed the instructions in the TSB and that my car has the very latest software and navigation available to it.

I asked him how it is possible that they followed the instructions when the instructions say to load the A4 card and my car will not accept that card. He says that they are confident that they followed the instructions because the car does not report a navigation error.

Does not compute. I think that I need to find someone at Ford to work through this with me.

Why not install it on your own? All you need to do is copy the files to a usb drive and then the car just does it on its own. Maybe try a master reset and see what happens?

Well for one thing, I don't have the A4 Nav card, the dealer does.
My second thing is that this is a brand new car and I expect the dealer to get it right. Maybe I should not expect so much for my $20K+ but I do.

That said, I just got a call from the dealership Sync expert saying that they could not do anything unless there was a "warranty issue" but that I could order the A4 card and download and install the update myself. I tried to tell him that it was a "sales issue" since I was told that the car would come with the latest nav data, but he seemed unable to process that.

I also already sent a service issue message to Ford. I find it funny that they end the form with a disclaimer that they may not do anything with the report.

Outside temp data could still be 3.2.2, very odd that you're having this issue. What is the error that pops up when attempting to put in the A4 card?

Can a Ford IVT member chime in here and see if we can help MonkeyK out here? Looks like we have yet ANOTHER dealership that is unwilling to help.

Corporate needs to get on board with getting these dealerships to straighten up and do their jobs correctly.
