Focus Rookie

Focus 1.8 TDCI 03 PO251 CODE
My focus is not starting too well, when its driven the globe plug light flashes and it cuts out, i turn it off and on and its ok for a while. On the code reader it says code PO251. I have changed the fuel filter and it made no odds, the egr has been cleaned out, i am hoping its not the fuel pump but am not sure what else to try, any advice greatly received. Thanks
