Yeah, but sometimes even if a project isn't profitable, companies will still produce them. Did lexus make a ton of profit off of the LFA's? I don't think so. Did having such an incredible "halo car" bump up their image? You betcha

The additional costs in R&D do not warrant the performance you can get from a platform that gets damn close performance from AWD. This is why AWD has not been used in the RS line since the Escort/Sierra. The RS has never been a profitable car and will continue to not be a profitable seller. Take some time and learn about the automotive industry, it will make more sense for you.

If you look the AWD platforms are slowly going away across the board.
