Can't wait for you to eat Crow. Although I love the $5k back track...

Although, I know nothing of their taxes or UK's. I want to say they include taxes in their list prices where as we add that on afterwards. Not that that accounts for the full difference, still looks like its cheaper for US
VAT is 16% in Germany.

I hope I do too but whether it comes here or not isn't going to kill me since I won't pay that price for a fwd car and my STI will always be quicker in the 1/4 mile which is the racing I do anyway unless I upgrade to a 370Z. The RS is a road course car and a good one at that.

I agree with you more than I let on and mostly just disagreeing to disagree since this thread keeps my boredom down.

Like a said before a fully loaded f150 cost more than a raptor.

So I bet a fully loaded focus will cost more than a RS.

Back in the days of SVTs and wagons, a fully loaded wagon cost more than a fully loaded SVT.

The SVT was also collecting dust on lots and were leaving lots almost $6000 less than sticker after sales stalled which is hard to believe sales stalled with the hype that car generated. What did a fully loaded wagon cost back then since I remember seeing the SVT coming in close to $20k.

Take a look at FordDirect.com. ST's are going for 21k all over because they are sitting on the lot also. 2014's are being shipped and the 2013's as collecting dust.

I just don't see Ford fitting it into the lineup with a Fiesta ST, Focus ST. Maybe the ST becomes the RS in that time frame.

I am glad they are looking at new opportunities though.

I highly doubt the RS would be sold here in the States...Ford spoils the Europeans way too much...

I still say price will be an issue

A quote from MotorAuthority from a few months ago......

"While many factors underlie Ford's decision to keep the Focus RS away from its American buyers, the issue of price is likely at the forefront--the last version, sold from 2009-2010, was priced from about $38,000, and the next could be even more expensive."

I also was chatting with a couple of Ford geeks that work for Ford and they think it will be pricey and limited and one other says Ford is going to ignore america once again so on that note that means we still don't know a dang thing either way. grrrrrrr
