Deep, low sounding muffler on an 02 focus?

Has anyone seen this done or had it done to their Focus? I used to have an 83 Malibu with thrush headerbacks on a 350 V8, and it made a beautiful, low pitched rumble. My brother has an s2000 that sounds nice even though it's stock, so I know it CAN be done with a 4 cyl, but what would it take to get a focus to sound that way? I really don't want it to sound like a ricer.

I'm assuming you have a Zetec? If so, Borla.

Also, a mod will have to move this to the correct section as this is for the Duratec (03-11) motors.

I'm pretty sure I have a Duratec, because I don't see the "ZETEC" logo thingy on it, and I didn't realize it was in 03-11, sorry!

Do you have this engine? (SPI)

This engine? (Zetec)

Or this engine? (Duratec)

I believe only the Zetec and SPI was offered for 2002, so either we're getting mixed up on the engine or the model year.

Does your engine look like this one? Stamped with "2.0L SPLIT PORT?" it would not say zetec

It would have the intake side nearest the firewall and the exhuast nearest the front of the car. The duratecs have the exhaust on the firewall side and intake nearest the front.

Yup, I have the 2l split port, I was wondering why all the pictures I had found of the zetec and duratec didn't match my engine

Gotcha, and now I can no longer help you, as I have no knowledge of the SPI motor or available exhausts for it lol.

rambleon84, over to SPI Performance please

Have a listen to this. Nice deep, bassy tone with a touch of crackle. Video really doesn't do it justice. It sounds better in person. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaCbS7m6jFM
