Ford Hates my new Trunk

Hey everyone.

I got a new trunk for my ford focus zts.
Bought it at the scrap yard for like 100 $

Anyways, after installing it. It has caused nothing but problems.
My car just hates it.

At first it blew a fuse, when turning on my lights
Put in a new fuse and it worked but my trunk light and licence plate light were constantly on
(Even when car was turned off, and no key in ignition)

So I took it into my garage to play with the fuses to see what one is the licence plate light (which is the interior light/ power mirrors)

And turned on my lights and the fuse randomly blew again.

Is it possible the wiring is bad. I did color to color but will recheck tomorrow

I have no interior lights, no dash lights, door ajar light on, no tail lights

Maybe the trunk is bad?
I have the old trunk but there is a hole in it. Worst comes to worst ill put it back on.

Thanks!

Seems fairly obvious that you have a dead short somewhere in the trunk wiring. The license plate lamp sockets are a common source of problems; check any and all bulb holders (including the center mounted brake light) for exposed wire, corrosion or chafing. Pull individual bulbs one at a time to isolate the problem socket/bulb. (Have lots of spare fuses handy.)

Your "new" trunk is from the same model year, correct? If not, matching up the wire colours might possibly not be exactly right.

I have too look at the wiring again when I get home from work.

How do I remove the licence plate light and the break light to check?

And it came from a 2002 zts ford focus (same style trunk)

Managed to fix it.
The wiring was off by two wires.

The orange with a small black line was connected to the orange with large black line
So I rewired in my garage and now everything works great!

Thanks everyone
