Paint repair

So I was given the gift of a car accident for my recent birthday...excellent. The fool of a driver that hit me pulled out of a left hand turn lane while I was passing by in the right lane and hit my driver's side stretching from the driver's door to the rear quarter panel. There was minimal panel damage and most is cometic (paint) besides the driver door which has some dents that I don't think would be bumped out. I have a very rare 2004 SVT EAP Infra Red (27 of 29 ever made). I am very concerned about the quality of a color match on the repair re-paint job.

I'm curious if anyone has recommendations for a paint/collision repair place in southern oakland northern wayne county MI that they trust and recommend if it were their car?

Thank you for any insights...this whole thing sucks. Bad driver, inattentive, texting idiot that f#*ked up a car I take meticulous car of simply because they were in rush and didn't pay attention.

Can't comment on any specific shops around your area, but the good thing about Infra Red is that it's a pretty basic color, as far as spraying goes. No metallic, no opalescent...just paint.

That being said, just about any decent body shop should be able to spray your car and make it look good. Stay away from Maaco and the like.

I'm not positive on this, but all the research I did into touch-up paint for my Infra-Red SVT pointed to Vermilion Red as a match (which was an available color for non-SVT Foci in 2004). If that's true, it shouldn't be too difficult to match.

Yeah, I've heard that those two colors are the same. I think they have separate paint codes though.

infa red and vermillion are both E4 for paint code
